The inauguration of the ISTE, CSI Sponsored Four day National Level Workshop on “Technologies for Big Data & Analytics” started at 10.30 am. Dr.M.Usha, Vice Principal, SCT, Salem delivered the welcome address and it was followed by the special address by Sri Chocko Valliappa, Vice Chairman, Sona Group of Institutions. Dr.C.V.Koushik, Academic Director, SCT Salem addressed the gathering. Dr. Jey Veerasmy, University of Texas, Dallas, USA & Ayush Gaur, University of Texas, Dallas, USA addressed on the theme of the workshop. Finally, the session was wrapped up with vote of thanks by Dr.B.Sathiyabama, HOD/CSE. The workshop was attended by 83 participants, includes research fellows, Academicians and PG /UG Students. Faculty from dept of IT, CSE and ECE attended the workshop by the eminent person in the field.
All the four days was engaged by Ayush Gaur and he gave in depth lectures on, Introduction on Big Data, Introduction and Installation of Hadoop, Map Reduce Techniques and Apache Pig.
