Civil Engineering Students bagged first place for modernization of Salem city with a cash prize of Rs.12000/ winning shield & certificates.

Salem civil engineering association (SCEA) conducted District Level Build Expo 16 during both 30^th December 2016 – 2^nd January 2017. The main motto of this expo is to exhibit products related to civil, electrical mechanical plumbing and to create awareness among the public about the new products developed by different companies.  Students were also given the opportunity to exhibit their ideas in the form of working models/prototypes. 42 projects from 16 different colleges in and around Salem have exhibited their works. Third & final year students of civil engineering department  of Sona college of technology, Salem have exhibited their project under various concepts like  modernization of Salem city, kinetic foot fall, pneumatic roads, magnetic water for agricultural purpose, reused derived fuel, mass street lighting. Students from Sona College of Technology & Government college of Engineering, Salem bagged first place for modernization of Salem city with a cash prize of Rs.12000/ winning shield & certificates. Our students have also awarded with best novel idea for pneumatic road concept. Our students were also motivated by a cash prize of Rs.1000 per batch. The college was recognized by awarding the title as “Best motivating college”. Our chairman Shri.C.Vallippa congratulated the students for their efforts taken and awarded a cash prize of Rs10,000/- as the motivation to other students. Vice chairmen Principal, Head of the department/ civil also congratulated and asked the students to implement their models into real life structures.
